Moving Tips for a Pefect Move Continued:
As Part of Eastern Connection Movers on going series to give absolutely Free Moving tips and advice to people whom are planning to move. These tips come from Lionel thompson a professional moving consultant with over 40 years in the moving industry and former professional mover. Mr. Thompson
1): On the day of your actual move it is wise never
to have the truck pull up and onto your driveway
if the driveway is under six inches thick. A truck
can easily crack a driveway. it is best to have
the driver park close enough to your residence to
do the loading or unloading of your boxes and
home furnishings. Concrete driveways especially
are the most easy to crack. The best way to see
if your driveway is under or more then six inches
thick is to measure the thickness with a ruler
and just place the ruler or yardstick on the side
of the driveway and measure the thickness from
the ground to the top of the driveway. If the
driveway is more then six inches thick you will
be okay.
2): Ask your movers to blanket and door jam wrap all
of your bannisters and use rug and floor runners
to protect your flooring from being damaged. A
simple protection can save you the home resident
a lot of headaches.
3): Have a list of things that you would like done
before the moving company shows up to move your
boxes and furnishings. When the team arrives go
over the list with the moving men.
